The UK-FA are extremely proud to announce that we have chosen the Fire Fighters Charity as our fundraising beneficiary for the coming 12 months.
The Fire Fighters Charity works relentlessly to provide, mental, physical and social support to UK fire fighters. Regional Fundraiser Kerry James took the time to talk to us recently. She informs us that the organisation expects to see a drop in donations due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, but the need for the charities help will be as in demand as ever as many of the front line fire fighters are carrying out tasks over and above their normal duties. Some being extremely harrowing.
The charity works tirelessly to support fire fighters who are affected by injury, both short and long term, rehabilitation after injury, bereavement support, independent living assistance, financial support, home adaptions for mobility issues, information and help on statutory entitlements. We are extremely proud to be supporting them with their efforts.
As members, we ask that should you have any ideas to help our fundraising, or If you have any contacts who would donate items for charitable auctions or raffles, we’d love to hear from you.
The UK-FA will be setting up a Just Giving page to collect donations, which will be published when up and running. We will be posting events and ideas ourselves over the year and we plan to present the proceeds that we generate to the charity at the 2021 AGM in Windsor.
