The uk-fa.co.uk, .com, .net and .info addresses were all bought on the 14 January by a third party and are mischievously being re-directed to the IFEDA membership webpage. 

I have been in contact with Graham Ferris the General Manager at IFEDA and am reassured that IFEDA have nothing to do with this prank and that any misdirected enquiries they receive will be forwarded to us.

The web address registration shows that the .co.uk address was bought by Robert Glencross at extinguishers4U Ltd in Irvine on the 14 January 2009 (we registered www.uk-fa.org on the 23 November 2008).   I called Robert yesterday and he assures me that he knows nothing about this, his main company West Coast Fire is a UK FA and BFC member.

It makes us wonder who has the time and money to waste carrying out such a petty deception.  If anyone has any information please let me know. If you save www.uk-fa.org as a ‘favourite’ you will avoid any inconvenience when keeping up to date with industry news and topical feature articles.

The upside to this episode is that no one has contacted me complaining about the misdirection and through it we have established a relationship with IFEDA that we can develop to the benefit of both our memberships.
