UKFA News update

The UK Fire Association is enjoying rapid growth having now over 50 members with a steady flow of companies joining.  Due to this unprecedented demand the Managing Group has extended the free joining fee period indefinitely.  We invite you to get involved with a friendly and dynamic association that listens to its members.

Membership is available online to bone-fide UK fire equipment and systems suppliers and installers.  Prospective members need to demonstrate competency in their area(s) of expertise and to have adequate levels of insurance.  Membership costs just £200 per annum and is currently VAT free.

BAFE Scheme SP101 accredited company’s and members of FIA, IFEDA and BFC have been accepted through the fast track joining process without needing to go through auditing (however we do reserve the right to audit any prospective member).  If you have recently resigned membership of one of these trade associations may still qualify for fast track membership - contact the Secretary for details.

The release of BS5306 part 3:2009 has been delayed due to a disagreement with an extinguisher manufacturer over the use of green labels for environmentally friendly foam.  This is a temporary setback so watch our website for its release and comment on the implications to the way we work.  Members can buy British Standards at discounted rates.

No change - the British Fire Consortium still stands alone in refusing without reason, to recognise the UK FA extinguisher technicians refresher course – even though it is accepted by BAFE.

Soon to be released - a recruitment section on the website to help some of our more unfortunate colleagues in the fire industry quickly find re-employment. If you are looking to fill a role or are yourself looking for a job contact secretary@uk-fa.org in confidence.

Apologies - there has been a delay in sending UK FA membership certificates as we have taken the decision to have these and the training certificates professionally designed and printed.  These have been finalised and will be despatched shortly.

NEWS UPDATE: Membership certificates are ready and have been sent out to all paid up members.

We want to feature articles and news items from you about your experiences and funny anecdotes. Email these to the secretary@uk-fa.org.

Do you have unused stock, tooling or equipment to sell?  Subject to demand for this service members will be able to advertise their unwanted items on a new Members Market website section.  Contact the secretary@uk-fa.org with details of those unwanted, saleable items you want to turn into cash!
