I started in the fire trade in 1978 working for L & G Fire in Canning Town London as a fire extinguisher engineer. I left L&G in 1983 moving to the West Country working for Wiltshire Fire Group And in 1986 set up my own business Southern Fire Security Ltd. The company soon grew from its extinguishers base to include dry riser installations in 1989, residential and domestic sprinkler systems in 2000, fire alarm systems in 2001 and Fire Risk assessments in 2005. In November 2007 I sold Southern Fire to start a new venture solely concentrating on dry/wet risers and residential/domestic sprinkler systems.
For those who do not yet know me I am well known in the fire industry from my 7 years spent as Treasurer to the British Fire Consortium. You will find me very helpful and willing to give honest and straightforward advice - if I can’t help you, I probably know someone that can!

Entered the fire trade as a Nu Swift engineer back in 1979 serving 8 years. In 1987 I started up Firepoint Services with my wife Susan and spent 18 years in the extinguisher trade. Many of those years also involved running my database business (currently System7) and serving on the British Fire Consortium Council. Recent times have been spent in semi retirement marketing my systems and assisting other fire protection companies.
